Here are the documents released in August 2011 to support cross cultural competency for teachers of Māori students
in mainstream schools. These are a great support for teachers to reach their criteria for the Registered Teacher Criteria (RTC).
They align with Ka Hikitia - the Māori Education Strategy which is mandated in all New Zealand Schools - and draw upon the
extensive research which underpins Te Mana and Te Kotahitanga.

This is a presentation I adapted extensively from Dr Donna Ford's presentation, and aligned with Te Kotahitanga and the
NZ Curriculum document. You are welcome to use it, please leave the acknowledgements on the first slide. This is an excellent
tool when working with teachers on cross cultural competency and culturally responsive practice.
